NOECH stands for No One Else Can Help. That is not hyperbole. That is the first criterion. I'm not going to try to undercut someone else's pricing or infringe on intellectual property. Yes, I've made "knock-offs" of products, when timing and availability was an issue. I do not want to make or be asked to make anything related to firearms. I am not against firearms, I am against the way some people use firearms. I admit that I am not going to take the time that it would take me to trust a person to be comfortable enough to... let's put it this way: if that unfinished statement started to upset you, that's why I do not want to make or modify anything related to firearms. The shop is tiny and I try to be quiet. Please keep that in mind. I read Tom Sawyer in High School and learned that people can be manipulated into doing things that they don't want to do just by challenging their ability. This doesn't work on me. I don't do this to others. This exists because I wanted some machining done and could not find anyone that wanted to take on the project. I'm selfish, this was for me, I asked that people not even suggest that I could help others while I was machining my project. I strive to not lie. When situations with no other reasonable solution came up, that I could solve, I offered to help. I have stayed quiet about what I can do - once... to me, that feels like a lie. I'm learning to say No. If you won the key-chain click here |

I Was Wondering A person asked me about machining. They had an arrangement with a commercial machine shop to perform a precise, manual and very labour intensive operation that cost them a fair amount of money. How would I like to do it? I wouldn't and I didn't. I did give away a machining methodology and run a test piece just to be sure. If you can hire a professional lumberjack to cut down trees with a chain saw, why would you ask me to do it with my utility knife? Please infer: with faster turn around and for less money. Fifty Bucks for Shipping Someone - who works in the delivery business - was able to find a metal part that they wanted but was facing a shipping fee of $50. I was asked to make the part. I recognized that it would require wearing out about $25 in tooling and spending several hours of my life making the part out of a piece of metal that I had sitting in inventory. I had already committed to a month of my free time for other projects. The metal would have been theirs for free; but the time, timing, and principle would have been too costly. Can You? Yes, I did that yesterday. Doing what you are asking me to do will cost me about $1.83 for an M42 drill bit - that I already have a replacement for - and take about 20 minutes When you describe your project and I have the idea to go about it in a different way that offers up: far more compatibility, less interfaces, and stays within your scope of materials and expertise while preserving the entire stated principle of your project... I'll likely tell you. Shout Outs Please do not offer or provide "shout outs". I could help more people if I was less helpful. This page is a filter. Pricing This is a hobby - that costs me a lot of money and time. If I tell you that one of what you want will cost $100, please understand that a second one will cost $300. This is a manual shop. After the first part I'll remember what I've been through and a second part will haunt me with how badly I under-bid the project.
